These days have been nothing but sunny for weeks on end and I couldn't be happier for it. What with summer being as criminally short as it is here in Canada, one must take fullest advantage of the beautiful weather while it lasts. Thus I've been wearing frilly dresses (top: vintage, bottom: The White Pepper) and consuming loads of fresh fruit and ice cream, often together as on my Flake 99. Our apartment is continually stocked with fresh blooms courtesy of my mom's garden, or in some cases the flower shop down the street. A friend of mine who shall remain nameless has always teased me about being an "indoor kid" and while this is certainly true during winter months, the summertime is a different story and this indoor kid even caught her first fish last weekend!

break from the usual
Here's me in my new hat which is one of very few I've ever found that fit my massive cranium. I turned 22 yesterday which is a number I have always been preoccupied with (in a good way) for reasons I can't explain. My high hopes for better times than the horrendous past year provided me with have already been fulfilled as my birthday was by far the best in recent memory. I couldn't be happier with life in general at the moment, and am looking forward to the rest of my summer although it has been and will most likely remain somewhat uneventful. My days are mostly quiet but appreciated and they've been passing so quickly. I can't tell you how long I have waited for things to settle into this.

fruity loops
I was originally throwing a fit over the above Lucky Prom Dress from Mulberry (which I love in both colours as it's slightly more subtle than most frocks with a bustier top) when I discovered that there are a number of really beautiful pieces in their RTW Spring 2010 collection:
The runway shots are slightly off putting imo simply because of that retarded hair, but clothes are meant to be worn, after all!

seven days in sunny june
As someone whose natural skin tone is so white I'm practically blue come the start of summer, dressing for warm weather makes me very nervous. Also, I've never understood the idea of less being more when it comes to clothing oneself, as I really do believe that (strategically) covering something up is sexier than letting it show in almost every instance. So needless to say that resort collections don't usually incite much enthusiasm from my neck of the woods, but Sonia Rykiel '10 has been the exception so far. I even like some of the pants!

buoyant
I don't tan (just burn to a crisp) and haven't been swimming in years, but these amazing suits would surely change that!
