I haven't been a super fan of Mr. Jacobs' past few collections, and curse his name on a weekly basis as I continue to wear my beautiful Marc by Marc flats which batter my feet like no others. But upon viewing the pieces from Marc Jacobs Resort 2011, I was reminded of why I love his designs so much. Everything here strikes a perfect balance between sweet and sexy, which as a girl in her early twenties I find is rarely accomplished by designers or individuals. Behold!

winning formula
There's an old Toothpaste For Dinner comic (or is it a Bible verse?) I can't locate right now that states 'pop culture references are not a substitute for humour.' So maybe Fashematics isn't funny, but it's kinda cute, which coincidently is the best I strive for a lot of the time (but surpass with ease as I am obv a hilarious mega babe).

fruity loops
I was originally throwing a fit over the above Lucky Prom Dress from Mulberry (which I love in both colours as it's slightly more subtle than most frocks with a bustier top) when I discovered that there are a number of really beautiful pieces in their RTW Spring 2010 collection:
The runway shots are slightly off putting imo simply because of that retarded hair, but clothes are meant to be worn, after all!

seven days in sunny june
As someone whose natural skin tone is so white I'm practically blue come the start of summer, dressing for warm weather makes me very nervous. Also, I've never understood the idea of less being more when it comes to clothing oneself, as I really do believe that (strategically) covering something up is sexier than letting it show in almost every instance. So needless to say that resort collections don't usually incite much enthusiasm from my neck of the woods, but Sonia Rykiel '10 has been the exception so far. I even like some of the pants!

reflect what you are
If you haven't seen the best of Chanel Couture Spring 2010 (Paris) yet, chances are you were until now inhabiting a modest but comfortable abode beneath a rock not permeated by wifi. If this has been the case, here's what you missed:

I really cannae get over this entire collection in all of it's obvious AMAZINGness. The details are impeccable, esp those shimmering tights and the coral lips, as are illustrations of the show by Natalea
